The central objective of the paper is to focus on gender inequality in education, especially in higher education and research in various regions of the world and to search out the causes of the long-term structure of inequality, to relate human development and gender inequality and to find out the proper policy prescriptions suggested by international institutions. Also, the author conducted a case study of women's role in publication in research and explained the causes of incapabilities.
